Authorities in Houston are investigating a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a woman on Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Mallow Street and Scott Street, according to the Houston Police Department.

A white Ford pickup truck is believed to have hit a woman while she was crossing the street. The driver left the scene without helping. The woman was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center by Houston Fire Department paramedics, where she was later pronounced dead, as reported by the Houston Police Department.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to identify the deceased. Officers B. Capuchino and V. Gara are investigating the accident.
