Houston authorities are intensifying their search for two suspects linked to the shooting death of Ernesto "Joe" Vidaurri, which occurred at his home on Hage Street in December last year. HPD has now shared surveillance footage showing the individuals believed to be responsible for the crime, as they continue to seek assistance from the public to bring closure to the case.
The released video depicts two men: one donning a dark hoodie, light-colored sweat pants, and black shoes, the other in a dark beanie, a blue Dallas Cowboys jacket, blue jeans, and dark shoes, carrying what seems to be either a red bag or gas can. The clues lay in the open, but the question of "who" still obscures clear sight, much like the moon on a fog-laden night. The Houston Police Department Homicide Division's Detectives C. Vaughn and R. Waterwall were led to the scene by a robbery call, only to discover Vidaurri, nicknamed "Sumo," lifeless from multiple gunshot wounds, a report by the City of Houston News detailed.
Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department answered the call but pronounced the 45-year-old Vidaurri, who resided at the location of the incident, deceased upon their arrival. Alongside Vidaurri at the crux of the investigation is a bright blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, also captured on surveillance and seen departing the residence post haste after the shots shattered the evening's calm.
