Last Sunday, a woman was stabbed and robbed after getting off a METRO bus in Houston near Shepherd and Memorial Drive. She was hospitalized, and the suspect was arrested with help from a K9 unit and helicopter, according to Click2Houston.
The suspect, who had also been riding the bus, followed the woman off before assaulting her at approximately 8:40 p.m., the incident occurred shortly after a man was involved in an armed robbery. Having been treated at the scene for multiple stab wounds, the woman was rushed to a local hospital where she underwent surgery, and was last reported to be in serious condition. The Houston Police Department, in a description provided to officers, managed to arrest the suspect not far from the crime scene, as per KHOU.
A suspect was arrested on Center Street near Washington Avenue after a quick response from both ground and aerial units. He is connected to a stabbing and an armed robbery that happened earlier the same day. While the knife used in the stabbing was recovered, the gun from the robbery is still missing. The Houston Police Department and METRO police are now working together on the case. "Lt. Horelica said it's possible the suspect could face charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault," as stated by KHOU.
