The Houston Police Department is in the midst of a search for a suspect after a fatal shooting took place in the southwest side of the city. The incident occurred on Caddo Lake Lane, where a man was shot and subsequently died from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers were called to the 6100 block around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening, according to a report by Click2Houston.
During the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that a vehicle had approached the victim. An argument ensued, and quickly escalated when, according to surveillance video, the driver stepped out to fire multiple shots at the man before speeding away. The victim, described as possibly in his late teens, was found dead in the street by responding officers. The handgun used in the shooting was recovered at the scene alongside dozens of shell casings, as KHOU reports.
There is currently no description of the suspect's vehicle. HPD is urging anyone who might have information about the incident to step forward and help to fully pinpoint what transpired on that residential street yesterday. The authorities are hoping to gather more evidence, as the investigation remains ongoing.
The Houston Police Department has made a public appeal, seeking witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and to contact their Homicide Division directly, or to anonymously provide tips through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
