The City of Huntington Park was the backdrop for a night of violence that left one woman dead and a man seriously injured. According to Huntington Park Police Department, the deadly encounter occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Monday, when officers responding to a report of gunfire arrived at the 3900 block of East 60th Street. There they found a woman lifeless inside a pickup truck, shot multiple times by an unknown assailant, KTLA reported.

The grim discovery did not conclude at the truck. Officers tracking a line of blood from the scene stumbled upon a second victim. NBC Los Angeles stated that the trail led approximately two blocks to a local liquor store, where a man was found having fled the original scene, nursing a gunshot wound.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is aiding in the homicide investigation, has not released any information about a possible suspect nor the relationship between the two victims. A call is out to the community for any information, asking individuals to come forward to contact the Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, as stated by ABC7.
