Lundy's seafood restaurant is returning to Brooklyn after a 17-year hiatus. According to Eater New York, the reimagined establishment now casts its anchor in Red Hook—offering up the much beloved "Shore Dinner" among other traditional seafood dishes.

Under the vision of hospitality industry veteran Sandra Snyder, the Red Hook iteration intends to encapsulate the same old-time charm that once drew throngs to Sheepshead Bay. Living up to its revered heritage, the second coming of Lundy's occupies a historic 150-year-old building, with a reported eye on providing a space for live music and a breezy waterfront patio come summer. "That restaurant really meant so much more to the neighborhood and Brooklyn in general," Gary Miller, a long-time patron of the original Lundy's, told Gothamist.

Once hosted over 10,000 patrons on Sundays, the revival of Lundy's pays tribute to Brooklyn's rich dining history. Along with classic cocktails and its iconic wooden bar, the return of Lundy's original biscuits stirs nostalgia among longtime fans. With the added appeal of waterfront views, Lundy's aims to recapture some semblance of its former glory. Mark Snyder, husband of Sandra Snyder, owner of Red Hook Winery, shared how Lundy’s was "a very nostalgic place" for the couple, highlighting the personal connection that adds depth to the restaurant's revival. Snyder's recount of her aspiration for the project was shared by Gothamist.
