
An individual was sent to the hospital following a shooting incident in Gresham early Tuesday morning, which occurred just before 3:00 a.m. on SW Pleasant View Drive, KOIN reports.
Details surrounding the victim's condition and the extent of their injuries remain undisclosed however, the Gresham Police Department has yet to clarify whether the victim was shot or injured by other means amidst the commotion of the confrontation, which has left the community searching for answers and more information about the violent encounter, according to KGW.
The situation reportedly began when a dispute over loud music escalated in a parking lot of a Gresham apartment complex, "a man was sitting in his car in the parking lot, blasting loud music when a woman came out to ask him to shut off the music or at least turn it down," a couple recounting the event detailed, unexpectedly the situation degenerated as the man in the car opted to engage rather than defusing the tension, leading to further argumentation; it was when the woman’s boyfriend emerged from the complex to intervene that the man reportedly drew a firearm and discharged it, KPTV documented through witness accounts.
As of now, the Gresham Police have not indicated that any suspects are in custody, leaving local residents with a growing apprehension about their safety and a plethora of questions that remain unanswered about the circumstances that led to the violence or the intentions behind it, further updates are anticipated as the investigation proceeds in the coming days.
