As stated by the Maryland State Fire Marsh's office, a small fire set to blaze intentionally using a Molotov cocktail incurred moderate damage upon Precision Tune Auto Care in Edgewood. The incident occurred late Saturday night and spurred an ongoing investigation.
Emergency responders from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were alerted to the incident close to midnight by an alarm company, swiftly arriving to find a fire within the office area of the auto shop. Crews were reported to have quickly extinguished the fire within five minutes after their arrival. According to FOX Baltimore, the alarm company had received a burglar and fire alarm indicating trouble at the establishment before the authorities' engagement.
The financial toll due to damages is estimated at roughly around $5,000, with no injuries being reported during the fiery incident. Fire marshal investigators, with the assistance of K9 Blondie, deduced the fire to be intentionally set. "The owner will be making repairs," officials commented on the disruptions faced by the business due to the fire, as reported by The Daily Voice.
The suspect’s details are still unclear, and the culprit remains unidentified. The community is urged to assist, with authorities asking anyone who knows about the case to contact the Northeast Regional Office at 410-386-3050.
