A Ferrari ended up submerged in the waters of Richardson Bay after its driver, who had been drinking, lost control of the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred last Friday when the car took flight following a failed attempt to navigate a curve on Seminary Drive in Unincorporated Mill Valley, as per the San Francisco Chronicle.
Images and a video shared on a social media post by the Marin County division of the CHP captured the aftermath of the crash where the high-end vehicle "took sail," leaving the roadway and ending up halfway in the bay, along with the soundtrack of R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly." CHP Marin expressed relief that the crash did not cause any fatalities and used the occasion to stress the importance of not driving under the influence and choosing a sober driver or a ride service, especially during the holiday season.
Recovery of the vehicle from the estuary was possible because the tide was out at the time of the incident. A special commendation was given to Diego Tow for swiftly and safely removing the sunken Ferrari, allowing for the clearance and reopening of the affected roadway.
