The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Kyaw Thar, a 51-year-old man reported missing in the Spring Park area. Thar was last seen around 7 p.m. last night when he left his home in the 2700 block of Spring Park Road. His disappearance prompted a police search after family members reported him missing at approximately 10:50 p.m. that evening, according to a report by First Coast News.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Thar has a medical condition causing severe memory loss, which adds urgency to the search operation. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and is distinguishable by the fact that he is missing four fingers on his right hand. On the day he went missing, he was wearing a red shirt and dark-colored pants. The Sheriff’s Office has issued a Public Safety Alert, urging local residents to assist by checking cameras, vehicles, and property that could help locate Mr. Thar. This information was also shared by Action News Jax.
The law enforcement agency’s concern is palpable, with a spokesperson stating, "Detectives continue to work diligently on this case, however, due to Mr. Thar’s severe memory loss due to a medical condition we are asking for assistance in ascertaining his safety." Community engagement is seen as critical in the efforts to safely recover Mr. Thar. This call to action was echoed in a social media update confirming the ongoing search, as noted by a Jax Sheriff's Office post on X.
