The Jacksonville Police Department is conducting an investigation following the discovery of a body at a local construction site. According to a report by WNCT, officers located the body in a sediment trap near the construction area off Gum Branch Road near city limits yesterday, around 2:30 p.m.

There is currently no concern for the public safety in relation to the finding, as stated by law enforcement officials. The inquiry into the identity of the deceased is underway, with officers collaborating closely with the State Medical Examiner’s office.
