
The City of Janesville has made public their holiday schedule, confirming several closures that residents should note. City Hall, the City Services Center, and key administrative offices such as the Fire, Police, and Water & Wastewater Utilities will not be operational during the upcoming holidays on December 24, 25, and January 1, as announced by the City of Janesville.
The Hedberg Public Library will be closed to the public from December 24 to 25 and will close early at 1 p.m. on December 31, remaining closed until January 1.
The Janesville Transit System (JTS) has announced adjusted hours during these holiday breaks. Transit services will be available on December 24 from 6:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., with no evening transit services. The service will be suspended on December 25 and January 1, with normal operations resuming the following days. School-related extra service routes will not be available from December 23 to January 1 during the winter break..
The holidays will impact refuse and recycling collection, with no curbside pickup on December 25 or January 1. After each holiday, collection will be delayed by one day, with Friday’s pickups moved to Saturday. To help dispose of Christmas trees, residents can place them curbside on their regular collection day during the week of January 13 or drop them off at the Sanitary Landfill during normal hours at no charge.
