The City of Janesville Recreation Division, in partnership with Hedberg Public Library and the School District of Janesville, is introducing a new Winter StoryWalk® at Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum, starting this Friday. This event offers families an opportunity to enjoy both outdoor activities and reading during the winter season.

The StoryWalk® concept transforms reading into an interactive experience, featuring a children's book displayed across a number of signposts along a walking trail. This winter's selected book is "We Are Branches" by Joyce Sidman, an inspiring read that will be spread out along an approximately half-mile loop of the Jolyn Beeman Trail. This novel presentation of literature literally unfolds in the natural backdrop of the arboretum, encouraging a combination of literacy, activity, and appreciation of the natural world, as reported by the City of Janesville.

According to the City's announcement, this installation is not just a seasonal treat but also a beneficiary of community support, receiving funding through a grant from American Family Insurance. The Winter StoryWalk® will be available at the arboretum through March 20, highlighting the collaborative effort to promote community engagement and outdoor activity.

The Winter StoryWalk® can be found at the Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum, located at 3550 W. County Hwy. A. For more information, contact the City’s Recreation Division at (608) 755-3030.
