Fort Worth City Council has decidedly chosen Jay Chapa as the new City Manager of their rapidly expanding city. Over 25 years of experience, most of it right at the heart of Fort Worth's municipal complex, has prepared Chapa to take over the city's reins with an intimate understanding of its intricacies.
After a robust national search that attracted over 150 applicants, the council rigorously narrowed the field to 14 potential candidates before finally settling on Chapa. In a statement by Fort Worth City news, Mayor Mattie Parker shared her optimism about the future, saying, "With Jay Chapa at the helm, the city is poised to build on its successes and tackle future challenges with confidence and determination, continuing to create opportunities for all who call Fort Worth home."
The selection process reflects Fort Worth's alluring status for professionals at the top of their game and is a testament to the city's vigorous growth. Chapa will begin his tenure as City Manager on January 27, allowing him to transition smoothly with outgoing City Manager David Cooke.
