The 12Ks of Christmas run/walk is set for December 15 in Kirkland, bringing traffic delays and parking restrictions near Marina Park. Authorities advise drivers to plan ahead, as vehicles parked in restricted zones will be towed.
According to an announcement on the City of Kirkland's website, road disruption can be expected to start from the early hours of the morning, with Lakeshore Plaza and Kirkland Avenue getting the roadblock treatment from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prepare to plan a new route if you usually travel these streets. The waterfront path will be packed starting from 9 a.m. and won't clear out until about 11:30 a.m.
Travelers should plan for additional closures during the 12Ks of Christmas event. Southbound Lake Street will be closed from Park Lane to 7th Avenue S between 8:45 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. The Marina Park boat launch will also be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For more details, visit 12ksofchristmas.com, as per the City of Kirkland.
