A Lakeland man faces multiple charges after being accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old during Thanksgiving break. Stephon Chad Fulse Jr., 25, was arrested following allegations that he engaged in sexual relations with the minor on several occasions while they both stayed at a Winter Haven residence.

According to a news release by the Winter Haven Police Department, and later detailed by WTSP, the incidents occurred between November 25 to December 1 and last Friday to Sunday, during which Fulse allegedly had sexual encounters with the victim in two different rooms of the home. The victim was reportedly visiting family at the time.

After an employee at the victim's school was alerted to the situation, Fulse was arrested at his home. A statement to the victim's father was captured where Fulse admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim and acknowledged their age, as reported by FOX 13 News.

In response to the arrest, Winter Haven Police Chief Vance Monroe expressed his dismay, saying, "This absolutely sickens me to hear of the innocence robbed from this young child," in remarks covered by WFLA. Monroe added, "I am so glad this child trusted an adult to tell of these horrific acts and get this guy behind bars." The nature of these allegations underscores a grievous breech in the sanctuary of childhood.

Fulse is currently facing four counts of sexual battery of a victim between the ages of 12 and 17, which stands as a First-Degree Felony. The Winter Haven Police Department urges anyone with further information or who believes they may also be a victim to come forward and contact them at 863-401-2256.
