Issac Laushaul Jr., 32, was arrested yesterday in connection with the brutal torture and killing of an abandoned dog earlier this year. According to an update from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Laushaul is set to face a felony charge for willfully and maliciously torturing, maiming, or killing a dog, cat, or other animal. The suspect is expected to be booked into the Clark County Detention Center following his arrest.

The investigation that led to Laushaul's arrest was a coming together of various squads from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, including the Animal Cruelty Detail, Missing Person’s Detail, Homicide Section, Sex Offender Apprehension Team, alongside the U.S. Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force. Found inside of a plastic tote behind a business, responding officers discovered an abandoned dog in medical distress on July 26. The authorities at 12:50 a.m. had been contacted by a LVMPD citizen and the dog was later taken to a local animal hospital, where it ultimately died.

The original press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detailed the initial response to the animal complaint at the 1100 block of East Twain Avenue.
