Las Vegas became the stage for yet another act of violence when, last Monday, just past the cusp of the afternoon at 3:02 p.m., a shooting took place in a business on the 900 block of West Owens Avenue, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds, who was swiftly taken to UMC hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated.
A second male, also bearing the marks of gunfire was found in the parking lot outside of the establishment, officers didn't hesitate to jump in with aid until the paramedics took over, he now battles for life in critical condition at the hospital, the names of the casualties have yet to be disclosed and the public waits as the Clark County Coroner's Office is preparing to release the identification alongside the cause and manner of death.
Investigators from the LVMPD Homicide Section are peeling back the layers of this tragedy in a thorough pursuit of the truth, marking it an ongoing investigation, in the woven tapestry of Las Vegas's darker narratives where the threads of violence seem all too common.
