Residents of League City will soon benefit from a new pedestrian bridge as part of the Claremont Connector Trail. This bridge will provide local students with a safer route to Gilmore Elementary School and connect to the city's existing trail system. The latest step in the project was the installation of a prefabricated bridge to cross a previously unsafe drainage ditch, as per a League City announcement.
Work is progressing to complete the trail, with contractors set to begin adding sidewalks. The eight-foot-wide concrete sidewalks on both sides of the bridge will accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.
The project is expected to be completed in the next two months, allowing students to safely walk or bike to school along the new trail.
