The LEGO Discovery Center Atlanta is bringing holiday cheer to families and especially to those with children with disabilities this season. On Tuesday, to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the center opened its doors to children with disabilities and their families, offering them a space to enjoy interactive play free of charge. As reported by Metro Atlanta CEO, families were able to be among the first to experience the center's festive Holiday Bricktacular event and engage in a range of activities, from the Master Model Builder Academy to the Kingdom Quest ride.

The inclusion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in their seasonal festivities underscores LEGO Discovery Center Atlanta's commitment to providing an accessible and enjoyable experience for all. This year, the Holiday Bricktacular, running through December 31st, includes the novel initiative of Build to Give, according to a statement from General Manager Jamica Butler obtained by Metro Atlanta CEO. Butler expressed the center's excitement "to welcome families for International Day of Persons with Disabilities Day and help them build amazing memories."

The Build to Give campaign invites the public to construct a LEGO heart and share it on social media with the hashtag #BuildToGive. As a result of this simple act, LEGO will donate a set to a child in need. Master Model Builder Noah Novak detailed the process to FOX 5 Atlanta, stating, "Anybody at all — if you're in the Discovery Center, or if you're at home — can build a heart and post it with #BuildToGive. And LEGO will actually send a set to a family in need."

The seasonal celebrations don't end with charity. Guests will also find a variety of holiday decorations and characters at the LEGO city in Miniland, including a Santa Claus stuck in traffic and a large snowman atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza. And for those looking to gift an experience this holiday, gift tickets are currently on sale for a reduced price. "We've actually got gift tickets on sale right now for about ten dollars off through the end of the year," explained Novak in an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta. This offering might just be the perfect stocking stuffer for the LEGO enthusiast in your life.
