The City of Lewisville has launched an environmentally conscious initiative that allows residents to recycle their Christmas trees, reinforcing the city’s commitment to sustainability. Lewisville Lake Park is now accepting post-holiday tree drop-offs, where they will be repurposed into mulch for gardens, walkways, and livestock bedding. Residents are encouraged to deliver their trees to the soccer fields located near Lake Park Road and North Mill Street by January 10, the final day for tree collection.

However, participants must adhere to specific guidelines before contributing to the program. All decorations, including nails, wire, tinsel, ornaments, and lights, must be completely removed from the trees before drop-off. This minor effort serves as a meaningful step toward fostering environmental responsibility.

The City of Lewisville has announced that free mulch will be available at the drop-off site from December 26 through January 31 as part of the program's benefits. This initiative is spearheaded by Keep Lewisville Beautiful (KLB) in collaboration with Lewisville Parks and Recreation. For further information, residents may contact KLB at 972.538.5949 or Parks and Recreation at 972.219.3550.
