The suspect, a 17-year-old male and ex-boyfriend of Lopez, was taken into custody and is being held concerning the November 22 incident that took place in the 900 block of Gaviota Avenue.
Homicide detectives utilized evidence and continued their investigation, ultimately leading to the identification of the juvenile suspect. However, the motive for the murder has yet to be unraveled as the investigation persists. Following the arrest, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday.

The LBPD had previously stated the shooting did not appear to be a random act, indicating a calculated crime.
