The Long Beach Police Department reported a peaceful night with no shootings or stabbings, marking a significant stride in community safety efforts. According to the LBPD Blotter, police officers' proactive measures resulted in the removal of three firearms from local streets in separate incidents on December 2.

Early in the morning around 7:50 a.m., Long Beach PD responded to a call about a domestic violence incident in the 200 block of East 68th Way. The suspect fled upon officers' arrival but was located shortly after, in a nearby vehicle. Authorities discovered two loaded guns during their investigation, one of which they confirmed as stolen, the suspect – classified as a prohibited possessor – was arrested and booked into Long Beach City Jail.

In a separate event that same afternoon, officers initiated a traffic stop on the 1700 block of Lemon Avenue. The stop led to the discovery of another loaded firearm within the vehicle. The driver, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody and faces charges as the investigation continues.

These incidents come amid increased efforts by law enforcement to curb gun violence in the city. Despite no reports of shootings or stabbings overnight, the recovery of illicit firearms underlines the ongoing challenges of illegal weapon possession. "Great work, officers! Last night, officers safely took three guns off the streets," the LBPD noted.
