There, they found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department. The reported time of the incident was approximately 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday. Witnesses described a male suspect approaching a vehicle on foot and opening fire, though the specifics of the motive are still to be thoroughly understood.
Following the shooting, Long Beach officers were quick to safely secure another weapon from the streets. At approximately 7:46 p.m., a traffic stop in the 400 block of Zona Court led to the discovery of a firearm. The individual in possession, found to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested.
