A tragic incident unfolded on West 21st Street near the Route 611 split in Lorain, where a 30-year-old man was struck and killed by a truck. The pedestrian, identified as Kevin Suarez-Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 5:40 p.m. yesterday, as reported by WKYC.
The vehicle involved, a 2021 Chevy Silverado, was driven by a 21-year-old man, who struck Suarez-Rodriguez whilst he was walking in the roadway. The Lorain Police Department mentioned that rainy conditions were present during the accident, potentially contributing to the incident. Lorain authorities have indicated that neither speed nor alcohol or drugs are believed to have been factors in this fatal encounter, according to a statement obtained by Cleveland19.
The Lorain Police Traffic Bureau is currently handling the investigation due to the severity of the crash.
