Last evening's hiking excursion in Chatsworth took an unexpected turn as two hikers found themselves in need of rescue after losing their way in the wilderness, the Los Angeles Fire Department's Air Operations unit responded with their precision and skill, the LAFD reported
The incident, which unfolded on Monday, began when a 9-1-1 call came in at 6:42 PM and was quickly actioned by the LAFD crew assigned to Fire Station 96 who, along with additional support teams, coordinated the rescue operation that spanned through the early dusk hours.
The LAFD Air Ops successfully located the hikers, confirming that they were not injured but were in an inaccessible location, necessitating a ‘short-haul’ flight maneuver to transport them back to safety, as detailed in the official LAFD alert.
