Early this morning, a structure fire broke out in a one-story home located at 7627 S Halldale Avenue in Manchester Square. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the incident, with initial reports at 07:40 A.M. indicating heavy smoke emanating from the building. This information has been confirmed by LAFD's alert, which detailed the preliminary scene.
The firefighting team, consisting of 32 firefighters, managed to gain control of the situation in a swift 21 minutes. The team confined and extinguished the fire within the 1,192-square-foot residence. According to a follow-up alert, no injuries were reported in the blaze that is believed to have started in the kitchen area of the nearly century-old wood-frame and stucco home.
While the cause of the fire remains under active investigation, the age of the building, with its wood frame and stucco, suggested an inherent risk factor for such incidents. Having stood for 98 years, the house's framework likely presented challenges to the fire suppression efforts.
