The Los Angeles Police Department is currently on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver responsible for severe injury to a pedestrian in the SFV area. According to a KTLA report, the incident took place on Thursday evening when a 30-year-old man was struck while crossing Vanowen Street near De Soto Avenue. The vehicle in question is described as a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows.
After hitting the pedestrian around 5:30 p.m., the driver did not stop to provide aid or identify themselves, continuing eastbound instead. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded, transporting the injured man to a local hospital for medical attention. His exact injuries have not been disclosed, but the search for the driver could lead to a reward. As reported by LAPD, a reward of up to $25,000 from the Hit–and–Run Reward Program Trust Fund is available for information to help identify or apprehend the culprit.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward. To provide tips, individuals can contact the detectives directly at (818) 644–8036 or, for anonymity, call the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1–800–222–TIPS (800–222–8477), the LAPD noted.
