
A 50-year-old man was the victim of a violent attack on Friday night at the York Street F train station in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The individual, who has yet to be identified by authorities, was reportedly punched and then received a laceration to his face on the stairs leading to the platform. The assault occurred around 11 p.m., according to Daily News.
The exact circumstances behind the incident remain unclear as investigators are trying to determine whether the attack was random or specifically targeted at the individual. After being attacked, the man was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, located in Park Slope, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
News 12 Brooklyn interviewed local commuters, one of whom commented on the perceived increase in violent incidents. "Being a native New Yorker these things do happen. Everybody says it never happens in my neighborhood but things happen unfortunately," the commuter said.
