
Earlier today, tragedy struck in the Holiday community of Pasco County. As a house fire claimed the lives of a man and his dog. The Pasco County Fire Rescue teams were dispatched to the 3800 block of Bowen Street around 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports of the blaze, WTSP reports.
The fire, which had taken hold of a front bedroom within the residence where the body of a 60-year-old man later identified was found by the responding units, the fire which had been swiftly contained to the affected area spared one occupant, enabling them to escape unharmed according to Suncoast News. Two dogs were also present in the home during the incident; while one survived, the other succumbed to the conditions of the fire.
The cause of the incident has been determined by the Pasco County Fire Marshal to be accidental, FOX 13 News has learned. The Marshal's ruling follows an investigation into the fire's origin and circumstances, concluding that the devastating event was not a result of intentional action.
Pasco County Fire Rescue has not shared additional details regarding the identity of the deceased or the ongoing investigation into the finer details of events that led to the tragic outcome.
