A man was left severely injured following a shooting in Northeast Baltimore, in an incident that police attended to near E Cold Spring Lane around the early evening. According to FOX Baltimore, officers found the victim at approximately 7:25 p.m., suffering from numerous gunshot wounds before he was urgently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Underpinning the stark violence of the evening was the revelation by Baltimore Police that the city had been marked by 200 homicides in the year to date—showing a decline from the previous year by 59 incidents. This figure was highlighted by CBS News Baltimore, which also reported, based on their gun violence tracker, that the majority of these homicides, specifically 173, were the result of gun violence.
