In north Harris County, a man reportedly shot three boys during a robbery attempt on Christmas night. The boys, aged 12 to 15, approached the man and his girlfriend as they were returning home from a holiday celebration, according to ABC13. The girlfriend, who was asleep at the time, later said they were confronted by at least four armed boys when they arrived at the Willow Plaza Apartments on N. Houston Rosslyn Road near Smiling Wood.
The man believed the attempted robbery to be a prank, given the assailants' young age. However, the situation escalated, leaving three of the boys with gunshot injuries. One of these boys, confirmed to be 12 years old, is in critical condition. "One of the police officers was trying to keep him coherent and everything, and he said, 'What did you get for Christmas?'" recalled Bruce Bailey, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident. The boy was referred to by Bailey as a "baby," as reported by ABC13.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting where a 25-year-old man shot two boys, who were reportedly carrying BB guns. The man, who claims self-defense, is cooperating with authorities, and no charges have been filed yet. Willow Plaza resident Monique Robledo said, "Being that age, you're supposed to be with your family." A grand jury will decide whether the shooter faces charges, as stated by Click2Houston.
