A violent altercation at a downtown San Antonio church culminated in a man being stabbed on Monday afternoon, as confirmed by the San Antonio Police Department. The incident occurred in a courtyard belonging to Grace Lutheran Church, located on the 500 block of Avenue E, where individuals had gathered for food distribution, KSAT reports.
The confrontation began when two men entered into a disagreement while at the local spot known for aiding the homeless with meals, an argument soon after escalated leading to one of the men sustabin the other with a pocketknife in his throat and hand, this information coming from KENS 5. Witnesses were present during the conflict which took place near the church courtyard that has become a sanctuary for many of the city's less fortunate.
The victim, believed to be in his 20s, required immediate medical attention and was transported to the hospital; however, the condition of the man remains undisclosed by authorities. The suspect responsible for the attack had not been apprehended and fled the scene on foot, details surrounding the perpetrator's whereabouts remain scant as the investigation continues.
