Following a month-long search, a 45-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with the shooting of a Metro bus driver in East Hollywood, as per sources from the Los Angeles Police Department. Dorian Holt was taken into custody on December 12 in Escondido, upon his return to Southern California. He is currently facing attempted murder charges and a set bail of $1 million, reported by ABC7.
The incident originally unfolded on the morning of November 16, when a 56-year-old female Metro bus driver, previously identified by law enforcement as Holt's ex-girlfriend, was shot in the face while on a break in the vicinity of LA's Thai Town, particularly in the 1600 block of North Vermont Avenue. Despite the intensity of her injuries, after surgery, she was listed in critical but stable condition, as mentioned by NBC Los Angeles.
Post-shooting, authorities indicated that Holt had fled the state, leading to an extensive multi-agency manhunt that concluded with his arrest in Escondido. FOX LA further reports indicate that his capture occurred shortly after he ventured back into Southern California.
Law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the assault, and they urge anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Northeast Division detectives at 323-561-3421. For those wishing to remain anonymous, calls to Crime Stoppers can be made at 800-222-8477.
