An armed robbery took place early yesterday morning at a 76 Gas Station located on Market Street in Stockton, leading to a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large. According to the San Diego Police Department, the suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his twenties to thirties, threatened the cashier with a firearm and demanded items before fleeing the scene in a black Dodge truck.
The vehicle was soon located, and a man identified as Juan Correa was apprehended and is now in custody. However, the San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander Officer D. O'Brien reported that the armed suspect is still on the run, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, facemask, dark pants, red gloves, and black-and-white athletic shoes, the San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander Officer D. O'Brien reported. The truck left the area without leading to any physical injuries.
A call to action has been issued by the SDPD so that anyone with information can come forward and help in the ongoing investigation. San Diego Police Department's Robbery Detectives have taken up the case and are diligently working to resolve the matter and apprehend the suspect, who is currently at large. Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to this incident by contacting Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or through the official San Diego government website.
While the prompt police response led to Correa's arrest, the main perpetrator's evasion prompts unease in the Stockton neighborhood, where crime is often an outlier in the minds of its residents.
