
Authorities are on the hunt for a man implicated in the stabbing of a teenager in Northridge earlier this week. The Los Angeles Police Department was called to the scene in the 9600 block of Balboa Boulevard shortly after 5 p.m., where the minor's wounds were swiftly attended to by paramedics, the severity of which remains unclear, as reported by NBC Los Angeles.
The suspect, described by FOX LA as a homeless man in his 50s, was last noted donning a dark-colored beanie and jacket, and despite the ongoing investigation, no arrest has been announced in connection with the incident up to the late hours of Monday night, as the LAPD's efforts to locate the alleged assailant continue they brought in the assistance of a helicopter to canvas the area.
According to details provided by CBS Los Angeles, the altercation occurred at a church playground where the teenager suffered a slash to the stomach by a piece of glass wielded by the suspect who had demanded the boy's property. After the victim professed he had nothing to give, the suspect then proceeded to attack, subsequent to the confrontation, the boy received treatment and was later released from the hospital.
An active search for the man characterized as transient ensues, as the LAPD scours the locality with the support of aerial resources.
