
Two individuals have been identified by Mankato authorities following a recent break-in at the Mankato Place Mall, the details of which were disclosed in a social media update by the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government. The suspects in question are accused of forcefully entering the mall through the north end by persistently pulling on the locked doors until they yielded.
Prior to the identification, the Mankato Police had reached out to the public seeking assistance in naming the two males, whose activities were recorded by mall security cameras; Mankato Police had provided a contact number for any leads, and subsequently thanked the community for their help in a follow-up post.
The break-in, which unfolded during the early morning hours, resulted in an estimated $3,000 in damages, according to local authorities. Police urge anyone with additional information about the incident or the suspects to still come forward and contact the Mankato Police Department at 507-387-8780.
The investigation is ongoing, and as new details emerge, the role of community vigilance cannot be overstated in light of how swiftly these two perpetrators were recognized following the issuance of the surveillance footage, authorities have not released further details regarding the suspects or indicated whether any stolen property was recovered in the aftermath of the Mankato Place Mall incident.
