Early this morning, Marin County deputies made an unexpected discovery when they searched a vehicle parked on Redwood Highway Frontage Road in Strawberry, finding drugs, weapons, and jewelry. According to a social media post by the Marin County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at around 1:05 a.m. when officers encountered a woman inside the car engaging in what appeared to be drug use.
After initiating contact with the female occupant, the situation quickly escalated as her boyfriend returned from a nearby store, and deputies proceeded to search the vehicle, unearthing not only suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia but also a loaded pistol and a cache of weaponry that included an unserialized AR 15 style rifle with ammunition. The car also contained a significant amount of jewelry, whose origins remain uncertain. Deputies are investigating whether it's linked to criminal endeavors. They've taken the items into custody until it can be determined if they're connected to any unlawful activity.
The outcome saw the female cited and released on possession charges related to the drug paraphernalia. At the same time, her boyfriend faced more severe consequences, being booked into Marin County Jail for multiple firearm charges.
