The Elks Lodge at 202 North Central Avenue in Medford, built in 1915, is set for major renovations thanks to a $150,000 loan from the City of Medford’s Urban Renewal Agency (MURA).
According to a City of Medford release, the renovations will focus on electrical upgrades for the commercial kitchen, new HVAC systems, and accessibility improvements, including a disability lift. MURA’s loan includes a $50,000 forgiveness clause if the lodge hosts at least four community events each year for five years.
The Copper Plank, a new restaurant, will open in the renovated space, along with Fusion Dance, bringing more opportunities for community engagement.
