Designed to provide care, through this clinic they instead engaged, convicted for defrauding the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), claiming about $3.3 million in fraudulent proceeds.

The maximum penalties for healthcare fraud include up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing for Eric Riley and Britney Gooch is scheduled for February 21, 2025. The scheme involved substantial amounts of money and affected recipients of the AHCCCS American Indian Health Program.

The investigation, conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Phoenix Division, revealed the scope of the fraud committed by Riley and Gooch. They submitted fraudulent billing for services not provided to AIHP patients, undermining the integrity of the system. Their sentencing will follow due process under the oversight of Judge Lanham.
