Local authorities are seeking the public's help in tracking down two burglary suspects. The Metropolitan Police Department reported that a commercial property on Maryland Avenue was the target of a break-in last Thursday. According to MPD's official statement, the incident occurred around 3:32 a.m., at an establishment located in the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast.
The duo alleged to be responsible for the burglary forced entry into the premises, and leaving with an undisclosed amount of property before making their getaway. Surveillance systems in place managed to capture images of the suspects, now released to the public in the hope that someone may recognize them, or provide information leading to their apprehension. The police, however, caution against direct confrontation and advise witnesses to relay their tips through official channels, as per MPD's official website.
Anyone who may identify the individuals depicted in the surveillance photos is encouraged to contact the Metropolitan Police Department directly. Calls can be made to (202) 727-9099 and for those preferring to text, a message can be sent to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Department is incentivizing potential informants with a reward of up to $1,000 for information that results in an arrest and, subsequent indictment of the involved parties.
