Michigan is looking for its newest lottery winners after a lucky weekend for two players. Last Friday, a ticket purchased at Jerry's Party Store in Westland matched five white balls (03-15-32-34-37) in the Lucky for Life game, winning $25,000 a year for life. The next day, a ticket bought at Liquor Land in Eastpointe matched all six Lotto 47 numbers to win a $1.1 million jackpot, according to ClickOnDetroit.
"Michigan Lottery players have been cashing in with big wins in recent weeks, and that lucky streak continued over the weekend with the 14th Lucky For Life, lifetime-prize win this year and a third Lotto 47 jackpot hit in three weeks," said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. The winners have been advised to quickly get in touch with the Michigan Lottery Player Relations division at 844-917-6325 to arrange to claim their prizes, as stated by MI Lottery Connect.
A Lucky for Life winner in Michigan can choose between a $390,000 one-time payment or $25,000 a year for at least 20 years. The prize must be claimed within a year of the draw. This is the 14th Lucky for Life win of 2024, while the Lotto 47 jackpot winner is the eighth. Recent winners in Genesee and Oakland Counties have claimed prizes from $1.54 million to $2 million. "Michigan Lottery players have been cashing in with big wins in recent weeks," said Shkreli, told ClickOnDetroit and The Detroit News.
