Mill Valley residents faced an alarming scenario as a structure fire broke out last Saturday at approximately 2:55 PM. The fire, originating in a multi-family residential building at 2226 Shelter Bay, prompted multiple 911 calls from concerned locals. Southern Marin Fire District personnel, backed by law enforcement, quickly arrived at the scene to tackle the blaze and facilitate the evacuation of residents, as reported by Southern Marin Fire District.

They worked swiftly to contain the fire and prevent it from inflicting further harm to adjacent units. By 3:45 PM, the fire was completely under control. Unfortunately, two neighboring units were not spared from smoke and water damage, displacing five residents. The Red Cross intervened, offering temporary shelter to two affected by the incident.

No injuries were reported among civilians or emergency personnel. The response to the two-alarm fire consisted of 15 apparatus and 35 fire personnel. Southern Marin Fire District has since praised the coordinated response of all assisting agencies, which included the Marin County Fire Department, Central Marin Fire Department, Tiburon Fire Department, Mill Valley Police Department, PG&E, and the American Red Cross for their role in securing resident safety and minimizing damages.
