A Milwaukee man, Roosevelt Davis, age 23, stands accused of a fatal shooting and additional acts of violence in Kentucky, following an earlier burglary in his home state. As per WISN, Kentucky State Police responded to a home invasion in Springfield, Kentucky, where two women were shot earlier yesterday. Kadesha Burch, 31, succumbed to her injuries, while Frances Campbell, 52, was wounded and required hospital treatment. Davis has now been arrested on charges including murder, attempted murder, and burglary.
Investigators connected Davis to the Kentucky incident after a statewide bulletin was issued, as detailed by CBS 58. This bulletin ultimately led a Shelbyville police officer to perform a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu and to quickly identify Davis as the driver. He was subsequently taken into custody and is currently detained at the Shelby County Detention Center, with the investigation still proceeding.
The seeds of these tragic events may have been sown on Christmas Day, when Davis is alleged to have broken into a closed Milwaukee business and removed property. News 3 Now reports that Davis later admitted to using money from this burglary to purchase firearms and gear. He reportedly confessed to authorities his intent was expressly to commit the subsequent acts of violence in Kentucky.
