Attention all travelers and pizza lovers: Mineo's Pizza House is set to open a new location at Pittsburgh International Airport. This famous pizza shop, known for its delicious slices, will serve its pies in the spring, allowing passengers to enjoy a taste of Pittsburgh's proud pizza tradition right before takeoff.
The upcoming food court spot will be conveniently located at the airside, nestled next to Marathon Diner, and is reported to have its bar seating area. "It will be as much a draw as their food and will be a popular place to wait for a departing flight," John Brennan, director of commercial program development at the airport, stated, as WTAE reported. With roots in Squirrel Hill and branches stretching out to Mt. Lebanon and Hampton Township, Mineo's expansion continues strongly with its latest installment.
The excitement was palpable in the airport's announcement, which teased, "can't wait for yinz to grab a slice while flying in or out of Pittsburgh." This sentiment reflects a broader culinary expansion, as the airport has earlier unveiled plans for multiple new dining options, shops, and conveniences as part of a large-scale modernization project. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, this list of 15 new establishments aims to showcase local flavors like Primanti Bros. and Sarris Candies, along with Mineo's.
