On what is typically a peaceful Christmas morning, fire crews from the Minneapolis Fire Department were called into action to tackle a blaze at a residential apartment building. According to a social media post by the Minneapolis Fire Department, the incident occurred on the 1800 block of LaSalle Ave, where firefighters confronted a fire located in the basement garage beneath the building.
Upon arrival, the dedicated fire crews laid out their lines and commenced with a thorough search of the engulfed three-story structure. The firefighters stumbled upon the main threat in the apartment complex's lower level, a car fire that had ignited surrounding materials, including a mattress and furniture. While encapsulating the inferno, they managed to quell the bulk of the fire shortly after.

Efficient venting procedures then followed, with large fans in play, forcing the smoke out and away from the residential ambiance of the garage and the building. Once the fire had been subdued, the team focused on overhauling the scene and extinguishing any lingering hotspots that posed a risk of rekindling. While engrossed in this task, it was of paramount importance to ensure the premises were rid of residual smoke to safeguard the residents' health and well-being.
Thankfully, amid the bustling efforts and billowing smoke, no injuries were reported during the incident. "Fire is out. Reported a mattress and furniture on fire in garage. Fire crews continuing to overhaul, extinguish hotspots and ventilate smoke out of the building," confirmed the Minneapolis Fire Department. The cause behind the holiday fire remains under investigation. In a stroke of good news, though, most dwellers of the structure will find their Christmas not completely disrupted, as they were expected to return to their abodes shortly after the incident
