A school bus collision in Butler County has resulted in minor injuries to two students and evaluations on the scene for seven others. The incident, which involved 42 students, occurred when a vehicle reportedly made an illegal turn and collided with the bus. WTAE reported that the bus was rear-ended due to the multi-vehicle accident.
According to state police, the crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. at Chicora Road and Oneida Valley Road intersect. A Chevy Malibu attempting to turn left onto Route 422 while running a red light struck the Butler Area School District bus. A Honda HRV following behind in the left lane could not stop hitting the spun-out car. Amidst the chaos, two of the students were subsequently transported to a hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.
Authorities cited the Chevy Malibu driver for Vehicle Code Violations following the incident that disrupted the 42 students' routine afternoon journey aboard the school bus. According to WPXI, medical personnel evaluated the students who were not hospitalized directly at the scene.
