The Lewisville Police Department took to social media to announce that the previously missing DeMarcus had been safely located and reunited with his family. In an update shared on Facebook, with relief saturating their words, the department thanked the community for their aid and support which spanned a collective concern that unfolded swiftly over 48 hours.
The urgency to locate DeMarcus began when he was reported missing last Saturday at around 6:07 p.m., from the area of 755 SH 121. Described as a 24-year-old black male, non-verbal, with limited cognitive abilities, and last seen sporting glasses, red sweatpants, a black long-sleeve shirt, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 175 pounds, and with his hair in medium twists, his safe return was imperative. The search efforts saw officers working closely with search and rescue teams, just as the Lewisville Police Department had initially alerted the public through the update on Facebook.
The following morning, an additional post reflected continued efforts as LPD detailed they were still in search of DeMarcus. The quiver of concern threaded through the community as tighter cooperation with Texas DPS and local media signaled an expanded outreach. The Facebook update urged anyone with information to immediately call 911, emphasizing the critical nature of his disappearance.
