An urgent appeal that mobilized Shepherd communities has reached its conclusion. The 7-year-old girl, Hazel Hodge-Lassiter, who was the focus of a recent AMBER Alert, has been safely located, according to KHOU.
Details regarding her recovery are sparse at the moment, as the Texas Department of Public Safety has not released information on how or where Hazel was found. Still, the relief that accompanies her return remains unmitigated for her family and all who heard the announcement of her disappearance in September.
Prior to her discovery, authorities described Hazel as having been abducted from Shepherd and spearheaded a massive search effort alongside an AMBER Alert for the girl. They were on the lookout for a gray 2019 Nissan Rogue with Texas license plate MDN 6176, believed to have been driven by the suspected abductors—44-year-old Brandon Lassiter and 41-year-old Ashley Doss-Lassiter.
