
Montgomery County has announced holiday schedule changes. County offices, MC 311, and state offices will be closed on December 25 and January 1. Public libraries will close at 6 p.m. on December 24 and December 31, and will be closed on the holidays. Ride On buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on December 25 and January 1, but Ride On Flex and Ride On extRa services will not operate, according to the Montgomery County.
MARC Train will run on an "R" schedule on December 23-24 and December 26-27, with no service on December 25. There will also be no MARC service on New Year's Day. Metrobus and Metrorail will follow a Sunday schedule on the holidays, with Metrorail staying open until 2 a.m. on December 31 for New Year's Eve, as reported by the Montgomery County.
Montgomery County residents should note the following holiday schedule changes: Alcohol Beverage Services stores will be open on December 24 and 31, but closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. Parking will be free on December 25 and January 1, with normal rates resuming the next day. The Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center will close at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and stay closed on the holidays. Trash and recycling collections will be delayed by one day due to the holidays. Community and senior centers, as well as aquatic centers, will close early at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and will be closed on the holidays.
